How to eliminate cigarette smoke smell...?
I received a tempur-pedic mattress from a friend who only used it once. The problem is...it smells like cigarette smoke. I have used almost a whole bottle of febreeze over the course of a couple weeks. I have continuously washed my sheets and mattress covers, but the smell is still pretty powerful. Are there any extra strength products that I can use? Or something to put under my sheets to cover the smell? Thanks!

White vinegar works best. Try wipping the mattress with vinegar + warm water, and let the mattress air dry outside. The vinegar tends to always get rid of the smoke smell well. And if the mattress smells a little like vinegar, the smell would surely disappear if you let it air dry. After wiping with water, you can also try taking some dryer sheets like downy and wiping that all over the mattress, so it smells good. Remember to air dry the mattress well, if you cant do it outside, just leave it air dry in your room and leave the windows open. Also, under your sheets, put lots of dryer sheets , perhaps nice smelling ones that you really like, so the smoke smell would go away. After that, try spraying some lysol to get rid of any left over odour. Repeat the steps if necessary, until the smoke smell totally goes away.
