Tobacco-induced syncope?
firstly, I know it wasn't the smartest thing to do.
but aside,
I had a friend visiting from out of town and I'm new to my area and had decided to make the best of my old friend during their brief visit.
so anyways, on to the stupid part:
I generally get up at 5am and go to bed at ~ 10pm, on this particular day picked up my friend from the airport at 9pm and shared gin and tonics until about about 3 am, laying down and eventually falling asleep around 4 (about 1 hour sleep in a 26 hour period). I am a heavy smoker (always non-filtered) and had recently switched to a brand I had given up do to it's varying availability. Anyways I was feeling kind of nauseated to start with that morning and after 2 or 3 cigarettes I sat down at my desk. At around 7:30 am I felt extremely nauseous, I was writing some things down and the I remember thinking "holy crap, I feel awful, I'm going to go to the rest room to vomit" in the following few seconds I attempted to stand and felt the nausea and dizzyness increasing at such a rate that before I could even rise to my feet the next thing I remember was someone shaking me and saying "are you okay?". evidently I had passed out eyes-wide-open and was nearly toppling off of the side of my chair. I have absolutely no history of epilepsy. The only thing I can recall of comparable circumstances was the night I fell asleep driving, another scenario in which I had been up late and chain smoking the same EVIL brand of cigarettes.
so I guess my question is, does this most likely sound like the combined affect of chain smoking, exhaustion and mild intoxication?
why would one cigarette brand have that affect more than another? or is that in my head?

Smoking is all in all unwise, as I'm sure you know. It had nothing to do with the brand. You were exhausted, and because of the alcohol, you were also dehydrated. A sometimes fatal combination. On top of that you smoke. The nicotine constricts your blood vessels and reduces oxygen and blood flow to the brain, which makes the problem worse. So it isn't the brand at all, but just a combination of negative factors. Best thing you can do if you have been up drinking and smoking is drink water, about two glasses.. and take an aspirin.
